Qantas is making an effort to reduce their plastic waste with announcing they will remove paper boarding passes. This comes after they have already made an effort to reduce plastic straw waste. We are just waiting for the day that that start to provide re-usable straws to customers!
CEO Alan Joice said:
“WE’VE ALREADY REMOVED PLASTIC WRAPPING ON OUR PYJAMAS AND HEADSETS, AS WELL AS PLASTIC STRAWS,” JOYCE SAID. “IT ADDS UP TO MILLIONS OF ITEMS A YEAR BECAUSE OF OUR SCALE AND THERE’S A LOT MORE WE CAN DO.”
Re-usable straws are just another way we all are working together to reduce environmental damage caused by plastic straws and general waste.
